About Us

Rockin’ Round the Clock, family childcare, is owned and operated by Marian Pycraft. She and her husband of 30 years, are the parents of six grown adult children.

Our Philosophy

Rockin’ Round the Clock Childcare believes that the family is the primary provider of nurturance and care for children. When care is needed outside of the family home:

  • We strive to model a “family atmosphere” in our family childcare home as we partner with families to care and educate their children.
  • We believe that each child is unique and develops at his or her own pace. To achieve their maximum potential, each child must be provided with not only safe physical care, but also be provided with an appropriate learning environment, emotional support, proper exercise and nutrition.
  • We provide a warm, stimulating, multi-sensory environment filled with developmentally appropriate materials.  In our “mixed-age” childcare, children can interact with each other (including siblings), materials, learning toys, and their teacher/caregivers.  This mixed age concept allows your child to advance in development by exposure to advanced language, activities and materials and at a pace that is set by their own development, not by a classroom “age” designation.
  • We follow all Ohio Infant & Toddler Guidelines, Ohio Early Learning & Development Standards for children from birth to five years old, as well as, Ohio Department of Education K-5 Standards for school-aged children.
  • We provide a professionally prepared, researched-based curriculum that is developed to support children’s individual rates of development.  We maintain an evaluation system that regularly assesses and reviews our program goals and children’s progress.  The interests of the children and the goals that we establish lead the curriculum and the daily activities, as we guide your child in the areas of cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and creative development.
  • We maintain low child to adult ratios for more personal attention and we nurture a cooperative relationship between families and the program.  We welcome collaboration with the community.
  • We employ only qualified, college educated and nurturing teaching assistants who meet all state requirements to be employed in a licensed childcare (including health screening, fingerprinting, and background checks).  Our employees follow developmentally appropriate practices and participate in on-going, continuous professional development.

We Provide:

  • High Quality, Year-Round Education & Care for children from age six weeks to School Age
  • Before / After School / Summer / School Breaks for School-aged Children to age 13 years
